SPARK Training and Technical Assistance

SPARK offers training and technical assistance (TA) to expand recovery supports and services in states, tribes, territories, and communities. Through an integrated team of partners and stakeholders, SPARK supports individuals, families, organizations, employers, systems, and communities to advance recovery and provides information, resources, training, and consultation about goals, ideas, and challenges. SPARK also offers intensive, ongoing onsite and virtual training and TA opportunities to support recovery at the state or local levels.

We can help you with:

  • Recovery Supports: Learn and apply strategies to ensure that evidence-based recovery supports and services are available to all people anytime, anywhere.
  • Innovations and Models: Learn about, implement, or expand peer-delivered activities and program models in communities, systems, collegiate environments, and residential settings such as recovery housing and farm/nature-based settings.
  • Family Recovery Supports: Expand comprehensive supports to help families heal and create healthier environments.
  • Community-Based and Faith-Based Efforts: Learn about efforts led by faith and community-based organizations to create and implement recovery outreach and education, services and supports, and partnerships in communities.
  • Employment: Enhance strategies to connect people in recovery to jobs and training for competitive employment. Bolster supported employment programs by integrating certified peers. Build short and long-term employment goals into recovery action plans. Expand employer interest and ability to attain recovery-friendly workplace designation.
  • Recovery Housing: Explore strategies to improve recovery housing outcomes for people with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Youth Recovery Supports: Expand youth recovery resources in a community, state, or system. Learn how to implement specific models or programs with and for young people.
  • Crisis Respite Services: Explore current and emerging concepts in peer respite models as a valuable benefit of service choice. Learn about peer-run crisis respite program development and management.
  • State Recovery Leadership: Build support for state recovery leaders to enhance or implement recovery-oriented systems of care (ROSC), statewide strategies to promote recovery, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Organizational Sustainability: Identify and blend funding sources and create sustainable funding pathways for peer-based and other recovery supports, services, and models. Create organizational and leadership development strategies. Implement infrastructure and capacity development tactics.
